Dr. Rice Serves as an Expert Panelist for The Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) Conference
On Friday, May 26th I had the pleasure of attending the 2023 Annual Conference of The Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ). CJJ is a nationwide coalition of State Advisory Groups (SAGs) and allies dedicated to preventing children and youth from becoming involved in the courts and upholding the highest standards of care when youth are charged with wrongdoing and enter the justice system. The Theme of this year’s conference was Reenvisioning Juvenile Justice: Treating Young People as Individuals. It was great to serve on a panel with Dr. Vanita Snow and Judge Zia Faruqui where we discussed the importance of HBCUs and how they play a vital role in the youth justice space.
